See below for various displays I have created in my library to promote reading along with printables so you can execute them in your library as well.
Quick notes about printables. . .
Some of these printables will be in 11X17 format. They are also formatted as .pdf files, so I would suggest using the "poster" option when you print these. You can see a tutorial on how to do that HERE. Please note you must download the .pdf first to your computer before printing.
Others that are in 8.5 X 11 format will be in Google Slides. You will be forced to make a copy, so make sure you are logged into your Google account beforehand. This is so you may have this copy to resize images if necessary.

Streaming Show Display
This interactive display pairs popular streaming television shows with books based on the "vibe" of those shows. I picked old and new shows, mostly based upon what students told me they were watching! PRINTABLES/RESOURCES |

Get Your Nose in a Book
File this one under "Jen's most crazy displays." This book pairs certain scents with a scent profile (what kind of personality you may have based on if you like that scent) and the kinds of books that you may like based on that scent profile. How did I do it? Pretty simple. . . #1: I got tealights from the dollar store along with some small containers. #2: I put the tealights in my oven just long enough to melt them completely through. (Make sure to put parchment paper under them on a cookie sheet in case it spills) #3: While they are completely melted, add 10 drops of essential oil to the candle and mix with a toothpick. (Use a different toothpick for each scent) #4: Let the candles become mostly solid again. When they are just soft enough to press down a little still, add about 10 more drops of essential oils. That's it! The essential oils are the most expensive thing, but they can be used for all other kinds of things! PRINTABLES/RESOURCES |
Tortured Poet's Department Display
April 19th is when Taylor's new album comes out, and it's ALSO poetry month! So grab out all the moody poetry books you got, and put out this easy display during April! Or do it now! I'm sure Tay-Tay would approve either way. I did not create little individual signs for each poetry book for this one because I'm just going to put out any and all poetry! PRINTABLES/RESOURCES
