Starting next week and continuing through the entire month of March, we are celebrating mysteries in the library and everything that goes into mysteries. Here's my motto for the month. . . .
Part of my role as a librarian is to get students to think, to inquire, to question, and to wonder. That's what March Mystery Month is all about! There are mysteries out there in the world that can't be solved by just searching through Google. Sometimes things aren't definitive.
So what will we be doing through March Mystery Month?
#1: Mystery book display
This may be a "well, duh," but we will have a book display of various fictional and true life mysteries for students and staff to check out in our main book display.
#4: Logic Puzzles
Last but not least. . . . .it take a lot of logic to solve a mystery, which is why each week in the library, we will be featuring logic puzzles staff and students can pick up in the library as well as download from the library website. Each week will feature a different puzzle with a winner who gets the logic puzzle correct awarded at the end of the week. I also plan on e-mailing out the logic puzzle to the entire staff in an effort to encourage participation. Finally, I may bring some printed copies to the staff meeting next Wednesday!
I'm excited to finish up my prep on this event and run it over the next few weeks during the month of March. Bring on March Mystery Month!
